Who We Are
Aliansi Perempuan Kalimantan untuk Perdamaian dan Keadilan Gender-AlPeKaJe (Kalimantan Women Alliance for Peace Building and Gender Justice-KWA) is a non-governmental organization established in Kalimantan, Indonesia. The Kalimantan Women's Alliance is mandated to continue its long-term, concrete facilitation in three regions: West, Central, and East Kalimantan. It also aims to coordinate women's groups into a "greater shared space" that will actualize the role of women in peacebuilding, gender justice in all its manifestations, equality between women and men in rights and responsibilities, and family development.
Our Vision and Mision

Women in Kalimantan have the ability to express their concerns and participate in networks that promote gender justice and peacebuilding
Mision
By increasing livelihood strategies and women's leadership, Kalimantan Women Alliance hopes to inspire communities, stakeholders, and policymakers to engage in ways that promote gender justice, particularly in the natural management resources, and women leadership. Our goal is to give Kalimantan women the confidence to speak up and participate in networks that promote gender justice and peacebuilding.
How We Do It
We work in collaboration with network institutions in three provinces in Kalimantan and members. Our main work is.
- Building and sustaining networks
- Building capability and raising awareness through education and training
- Organizing grassroots women's organization
- Fighting for control over and access to natural resources andother sources of livelihood
- Advocacy: promote racial, ethnic, and religiously neutral policy changes to prevent discrimination against women
What We Do
To achieve its goals, Kalimantan Women Alliance has placed a strong emphasis on issues related to family development, gender equity in all its manifestations, and peacebuilding. To further our mission, we work in partnership with network institutions at the local level to promote mindset, behavior, and action changes toward gender justice, particularly in the management of natural resources. We do this by enhancing livelihood strategies, education and training, women's leadership, women's leadership transformation, and feminist leadership.
To enhance community capacity and promote the empowerment of women, persons with disabilities, youth, and communities at the local level, we closely cooperate with regional, Asian, and worldwide network organizations. We also work with local leaders, village governments, and district administrations.
